The Ezri Center for Iran and Gulf States Research

About

At the heart of the Ezri Center for Iran & Persian Gulf Studies lies a passionate commitment to deepen the understanding and expand the knowledge of Iran and the Gulf's dynamic societies, economies, politics, religions, and cultures.

Leveraging the collective expertise of a distinguished team of experts, the center employs a rich tapestry of interdisciplinary approaches to shed new light on this critical region, contributing to innovative research and offering pivotal insights.

The center traces its history back to the visionary efforts of Meir Ezri, Israel's inaugural ambassador to Iran, a role through which he garnered numerous accolades from the Shah and the Iranian government.

In 2006, Ambassador Ezri's long-cherished vision came to fruition with the establishment of the Ezri Center at the University of Haifa.

Continuing his legacy, his granddaughter, Dr. Efrat Sopher, is crucial in guiding the center's future as both an Advisor & Board Member and a University of Haifa-UK Trustee.

This blend of historical legacy and forward-looking scholarship makes the Ezri Center a beacon of research and understanding in the complex tapestry of the Gulf region.
